Supporting Healthier Communities at Sheng Hong Health Carnival 2026

On 3 October 2026, SG Diagnostics was delighted to be part of the Sheng Hong Active Ageing Centre Health Carnival organised by the Society of Sheng Hong Welfare Services (SSHWS), a welfare arm of Lorong Koo Chye Sheng Hong Temple Association.

The carnival brought together residents from Sennett Estate, Joo Seng and MacPherson Garden for a fun-filled day focused on health and well-being. Residents had the opportunity to participate in a range of activities including health checks, functional assessments, frailty screening, mental health assessments, interactive booths and games. We were also delighted to meet the Guest of Honour, Mr. Alex Yeo, Member of Parliament for Potong Pasir SMC and Adviser to Potong Pasir GROs, during the event.

Supporting Early Detection Through Community Screening

As part of the carnival, SG Diagnostics supported a simple health check using our PreciS™-A HbA1c Rapid Analysis System for diabetes risk assessment and management. The test was offered to participants who had not undergone an HbA1c test in the past year. Through a simple finger-prick test, participants could measure their HbA1c levels, which reflect their average blood sugar levels over the past two to three months, without the need for fasting.

Our team conducted HbA1c testing for participants during the event.

Beyond the testing, we have extended the conversation by providing health advice and guidance on appropriate next steps to help participants better understand and manage their health. Residents were also encouraged to enrol in national initiatives like Healthier SG for ongoing preventive care and follow-up support.

By bringing point-of-care testing closer to residents, we aim to improve access to preventive health services while encouraging greater awareness of health risks and appropriate follow-up. Through these efforts, we hope to strengthen the connection between community-based health testing and primary care, supporting better continuity of care and chronic disease management.
