Prevention for Diabetes
- Avoid Sugary Beverage: A single can of sugar-sweetened soda can contain as much as 7 teaspoons (35g) of added sugar (140kcal).1 Hence, drinking water instead of sugary beverages may help manage blood sugar and insulin levels, thereby reducing the risk of diabetes.2
- Consume Food High in Fiber: Food that are high in fiber helps to control your blood sugar. The body is unable to absorb and break down fiber, it doesn’t cause a spike in blood sugar the way other carbohydrates can.3
Care for Diabetes
- Blood Sugar Monitoring: Regularly monitoring your blood sugar levels can help you take better care of your diabetes. Checking your blood sugar helps you learn how food, activity levels, stress, medicine and insulin affect your blood sugar levels.4
- Get Active: Exercising has the potential to consistently lower your blood glucose levels and eventually lower HbA1c. This may result in you requiring fewer diabetes medications or less insulin.5
